GARDEN OF GETHSEMANE

Garden of Gethsemane is situated  at the bottom of the Mount of Olives and opposite the Temple Mount. It is located around the Church of All Nations  and is the popularly accepted site of Garden of Gethsemane, the garden where Jesus is believed to be betrayed and arrested ( Mark 14:32-50 & Luke 22:44). The garden has some of the world’s oldest olive trees ( in Hebrew Gat Shmanim means “ oil press” ). It is an appropriate name for the spot where Jesus  was so hard pressed as He prayed that He sweated great drops of blood. Three of them has been scientifically dated as being over 2,000 years old, standing as witness to biblical events.
